PTA WEEKLY DIGEST - 9/16/18
DEADLINE EXTENDED FOR PTA MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS! GO TO http://login.atozconnect.com/
Just over 75% of you have renewed your memberships. We don't want anyone to miss out, so the deadline has been extended to this Friday, Sept. 21. Don't wait, check it off your to-do list now so that you'll continue to receive these weekly emails and be included in the directory!
Ms. Ahlskog, Ms. Sweeney, Ms. Fitzpatrick and Ms. Pritchard’s classes have tied for the highest percentage of PTA members, and a few other classes are very close behind, so the contest has been extended to Friday, Sept. 21! The winning class will receive Jones Lane Jaguars car magnets for the whole class!

CALL FOR DONATIONS
Third-grader Eva Zaiets will not be coming back to Jones Lane this year because her father unexpectedly passed away right before the start of school. Sabina Koyani (president of the PCWC and a JLES mom) is collecting donations to help Eva’s family in this difficult time. If you would like to contribute anything to Eva's family, which includes her mom and 1-year-old brother, gift cards or payments via check or PayPal to PCWC with a note that it's for the Zaiets family are greatly appreciated. Warm messages from her classmates would also be well-received, and can be dropped-off at 15305 Jones Lane.

SHINING KIDS YOGA AT JLES
We are lucky to have Shining Kids Yoga at JLES again this fall! Shining Kids Yoga offers before and after-school yoga enrichment classes at elementary schools throughout Montgomery County. Yoga is an ancient healing practice known to calm the body, mind, and emotions. In this playful yoga class designed especially for elementary aged-children, children will learn yoga poses, breathing, and relaxation exercises which cultivate a calm mind, increase strength and flexibility, improve gross and fine motor skills, improve concentration, and give children the tools to manage stress in their daily lives. Games, stories, and music will be incorporated into this fun, non-competitive class. Each class ends with a period of relaxation and aromatherapy. Children should bring their own yoga mat to class. The sessions will be held on Tuesdays from 3:45-4:40pm for 6 weeks beginning on Oct. 9, 2018. Cost is $110.
