Yoga is an ancient healing practice known to calm the body, mind, and emotions. In this playful yoga class designed especially for elementary aged-children, children will learn yoga poses, breathing, and relaxation exercises which cultivate a calm mind, increase strength and flexibility, improve gross and fine motor skills, improve concentration, and give children the tools to manage stress in their daily lives.  Games, stories, and music will be incorporated into this fun, non-competitive class. Children should bring their own yoga mat to class.

2ND ANNUAL MCPS-MCCPTA MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS FORUM
Saturday, Jan 12, 2019, 1-5 pm, at Wood Middle School, 14615 Bauer Drive, Rockville, MD 20853
New breakout sessions added:
Bullying and Violence Prevention
Reactive and Proactive Parenting in the Digital World
**The Mental Health First Aid Training is already full.
All families, secondary students, elementary students (with guardians), teachers, staff, administrators, and community members are welcome. The impact of mental health and wellness challenges is not limited to select families. Not acknowledging and addressing the challenges impairs learning now and life prospects later. Not talking about them stigmatizes the conditions and becomes a source of stress itself. Mental health concerns us all because we are directly and indirectly affected when children suffer from stress, anxiety, and related matters. We must address these issues in school and at home. The online registration form is available at: https://goo.gl/forms/wNYelcS2SEJcs1MB3
